General Application

 

' GOOD PAINTING PRACTICE '

Surface preparation - All products.

Before applying any 'Resitex' product ensure that all surfaces are sound , clean , dry and suitably primed if necessary . Remove any loose , powdery and/or flaking materials , dirt and grease.

 Moss , algae , lichen or mould should be treated with a quality fungicidal wash.

All 'Resitex' products are water based therefore do not apply in temperatures below 5 degrees celcius or if there is an imminent risk of rain or frost. Avoid applying in direct sunlight or to hot surfaces.

Drying times will be affected by humidity and general temperatures on the day of application.

Application of Stipple Finish to Plywood Boards

  1. Prime boards overall using 'S.I. PRIMER' by brush or roller and leave to dry.
  2. Lay Jointing Tape central and parallel to butt joints and adhere with a brush application of 'RESISEAL' and leave to dry.
  3. Immerse the 'STIPPLE ROLLER' in the material and ensure a heavy coating is distributed around its complete surface area.
  4. The material can be applied in patches to the board by skidding the roller across an area of approx. 3ft wide from top to bottom.  Try to apply at an even thickness.
  5. Apply light pressure on the loaded roller and skid or roll from top to bottom to create the desired pattern.
  6. On high elevations a broom handle attached to the roller handle will allow one sweep.  Should `tramlining` be apparent, roll over once again.  Try to maintain a wet edge and all day joints should finish at a corner.  Coverage rates : 1.5 to 2 litres per sq. metre is recommended to protect the board.
  7. PLEASE NOTE:  The same material and roller will create different degrees of desired pattern depending on the thickness of material applied.

Since these materials are water based do not apply when there is an imminent danger of rain or frost before the coating has fully dried. Avoid applying in direct sunlight or to hot surfaces.
